And not only that, but the multi-talented artists have been connected with radio shows with million listeners and music productions that have been in most top charts.
The web is filled with lists of the Top DJs but there is no way to rank “the best” DJ in the world. There are many things to consider but the personal preference on style and genre are the reasons for a list impossible to satisfy everyone.
Our “platform” to pick the best female DJs is based on popularity, DJ/mixing skills, awards and other music relative occupation such as radio show, record labels and music production.

1. Anja Schneider
Germany has become the capital of techno in Europe. With clubs, schools and a very friendly environment for techno DJs.
Anja Schneider became known to us by her broadcasting on the radio station KissFm and later on Fritz Radio. When she started DJing and mixing, she developed a deep vibe and minimal-Techno sound that quickly created a huge fun club. The German artist is also the founder of Mobilee Records. A very successful record label that has sign dozens of musicians such as Maya Jane Coles, Pan-Pot, Rodriguez Jr., Audiofly and Kevin Yost.
With performances on big clubs such as Pacha Ibiza, and the epic ADE music festival in Netherlands. Anja Schneider is an international DJ and music Producer with dozens of quality productions and exceptional music taste. If you are ever around at one of her events, you have to enter.
Known for her curly hair and her powerful temperament, tINI got involve with rhythms and beats from the very young age of 7.
The German DJ and producer started with underground hip hop DJing. As her knowledge and techniques grew so did her interest to electronic music. Her astonished vinyl-only sets prove her DJing skills and the real and deep love for music.
TINI is an integral part of Desolat since Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich noticed her. BPM, Ultra Music and Exit festival are only a few of the many stages she has performed. The future is big in front of her, but i still wouldn’t miss the chance to attend to any of her parties.
3. Ellen Allien
The multi-talented DJ and producer from Germany has a discography of a veteran. Eight full-length albums and many remixes on her labels and dozens more.
Ellen Allien is the founder of BPitch Control and manages it since 1999. A label with releases by artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Maceo Plex and Hot Since 82.
Once you will listen her sets you will understand why the name “Allien”. A blend of techno and experimental electronica make her live performances unique on every event.
4. Nicole Moudaber
Her name is linked to Drumcode and Techno. Many give her the title of the Techno Queen, however almost all women DJs of our list could be stuck with this characterization.
After Carl Cox “tagged” the Nigerian-born artist as “the most underrated DJ”, her career start to rise. With appearances in the biggest clubs of the world and her dark vibe sets have placed her in the most Top DJ charts.
Nicole Moudaber has become a resident to the top Techno festivals such as BPM and Awakenings. Her weekly radio show from April 2014 has a big success. Mood Records is the record label she found in 2013 and her collaboration with artists such as Adam Beyer, Carl Cox and Coyu make her a multi-dimensional artist.
5. Monika Kruse
Probably the most close DJ friend of Carl Cox, Monika Kruse is an international techno DJ and producer. She probably has the most live appearances and performances than any other DJ in our list.
Germany’s “first lady” of Techno music has perform in legendary events and festivals such as Burning Man and ADE. As a resident at Berghain Berlin she is probably the best female DJ to introduce you to real Techno sounds.
Monika Kruse runs the labels Electric Avenue and Terminal M but has also releases on Toolroom, Natura Viva and many more. As well as collaborations with the top DJs in the world and hundred of pure Techno productions to add at her biography.
The Polish native DJ and producer made her first music steps in Detroit, featuring in the underground techno scene.
After she entered Minus and began touring the world as Richie Hawtin‘s warm up set DJ, her sound began to develop. Her touring calendar is full most of the times and if not, then she is focused on music production and her own label “Item’s & Things”. Her discography from the other hand might not be rich, but there are supreme releases on labels such as Defected In The House and Hot Creations.
Magda is more of an artist than a DJ, as she is involved in multiple art forms. She has even take her Live Dj set at a Hot-air Balloon, 2000 meters above Zürich in 2016.
7. Annie Mac
The British DJ is well known all over the world for her weekly BBC Radio 1 show since 2004. It’s true that over a million of listeners tune in to listen her two hour show.
With appearances at the biggest festivals in the world such as Creamfields and South West Four, Annie has probably one of the largest fan club.
Annie Mac hasn’t show any real interest on music production but that doesn’t make her any less of a DJ. With DJ experience since the age of 17 and influenced by artists such as Laurent Garnier, Andy Weatherall and Green Velvet has make her sound a real novelty.
The girls from Montreal might be relatively new in the scene (almost a decade) but their fun club increase rapidly.
Anastasia and Vivie-Ann, moved from London to Spain, to be even more close to the music scene of Spain and Ibiza. Pete Tong and Depeche Mode are some of the big names that have ask the duo to make official remixes.
Blond:ish stand out for their brilliant and unique productions with dark progressive bass-lines and excellent sound engineering. Their tracks have been released on the best house and techno labels such as Get Physical Music and Kompakt and a couple of them have been on the Top10 tracks on beatport.com.
Many learnt of Cassy from her residency at Berghain Panorama Bar. Born in England, lived in Austria and later ended up at Berlin in 2003 when was a career boost for her.
After her first steps in Germany as a House and Minimal Dj she then sat on a studio with DJs and producers such as Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Steve Bug.
You might not see her at the best and most crowded festivals in the world, however Cassy will be seen DJing in clubs more than most of the rest.
10. Nina Kraviz
Nina Kraviz is an excellent and professional DJ who has won Beatport’s DJ of the Year 2014.
Thankfully for us, her dental medicine doctorate didn’t excite her and left the field to follow her love and passion for House and Techno. Nina Kraviz is incredible on stage, she creates a vibe in seconds and immediately transfer it across the stage.
We have seen her on some of the biggest festivals in the world such as Awakenings, Coachella, Sonár and Decibel. She might be new in music production compare to Monika Kruse or Ellen Allien, but she is young and the future belongs to her.
